Silver Dart replica wows admirers at annual RAG propeller air show June 6 and 7 before heading out on busy summer schedule
The Welland Silver Dart replica – C-IIGY - drew hundreds of admirers of all ages on Saturday and Sunday, June 6 and 7 at the Russell Aviation Group’s Friendly Foes Above the Falls 2009 annual air show at Niagara Falls South Airport.
In the accompanying photograph, C-IIGY, in the foreground, shares parking apron space with other vintage aircraft - to the airfield on the right, and with the famous Memphis Bell, B-17 bomber, upper left background, whose engines were being fired up for a flypast minutes after this photo was taken by a member of the AEA 2005 Inc. Silver Dart support team from the airfield’s air traffic control tower.
Many have asked when and where the replica will be seen next. To this end, a preliminary schedule has been prepared to answer this very question. The schedule is listed on the NEWS page of this update.
